CHECK IN & OUT
Check in time is 3pm and check out time is 10:00am. We highly recommend arriving before dark to get settled and become familiar with the area. If you are arriving after dark please notify us so we can guide you to your site.
SUPPLIES
Riverside Acres located 1/4 mile north of the camp entrance has bagged ice, firewood, Gourmet Food Shop and Pet Store.
IS THERE A BATHROOM?
Yes! Your cabin has a private bathhouse located next to the entrance of your cabin, it has a composting toilet and hot shower. The hot water is filtered river water and is not crystal clear. There is a claw foot tub on the deck for soaking. The tub is filled by using the shower heads hose. The composting toilet has a urine diverter and a separate section for solid waste. After you leave your deposit sprinkle sawdust over it. The bathroom is stocked with eco-friendly soaps.
IS FIRE WOOD INCLUDED?
Firewood is available for purchase at the Riverside Acres Shop, just a 1/4 mile north of camp on the River Road. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. I do provide lighters and fire starter blocks in the cabin.
CAN YOU FISH IN THE RIVER?
Yes, we encourage catch and release. Feel free to bring your own fishing gear. Please note fishing licenses are required for anyone 16 years and older in NY State. See link below for NY State Fishing Regulations and how to purchase:
ARE THE CANOES INCLUDED?
Yes, canoes are available to use with your reservation. They are located at the waters edge by your cabin. Feel free to bring your own canoes or kayaks or water activities. I highly recommend water shoes as the river is a mix of sandy beach area and areas of bedrock.
ARE THERE PLACES TO HIKE ON THE FARM?
There are trails along the river to walk and flags along the way to guide you. Please DO NOT go over the fences as there are cows and bulls grazing.
IS THERE WIFI?
We do not provide WIFI, there is cell phone service and both diners and the Norwood News Cafe in town have WIFI.
IS THERE A GRILL?
We provide a propane grill at your cabin and there is also a two burner propane stove top in your cabins kitchen.
IS THERE ELECTRICITY?
The cabin is off grid but does have lights and standard outlets that are powered by a solar system. The powered is not endless, unplug your electronics and turn off lights when not in use. The cabin has running hot water in the kitchen and shower that is filtered water from the river. The kitchen also has a hand pump for drinking and cooking water.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
We encourage guests to be adventurous when rain is in the forecast. The cabin is very pleasant, dry and relaxing in rainy weather. Raindrops and thunderstorms make for a natural sound machine and provide guests with an opportunity to rest, read, cuddle, nap, and play card games.
CANCELLATION POLICY?
A full refund will be given if cancelled 14 days prior to check-in and a 50% refund if cancelled 7 days before check-in. Reservations are currently booked through Airbnb and VRBO and cancellation would be handled with them as well. Additional cancellation insurance can be purchased with your reservation at the time of booking with Airbnb and VRBO.
